Hi,

Since I didn't find a thread for The New PadFone Infinity (A86) aka PadFone Infinity two, decided to create this thread.
Hopefully this meridian device gets noticed past developers.

Any MOD for sound? Low handset speaker volume?

As you might noticed, the speaker book (notifications, ringtones, etc.) of NPFI handset is pretty depression even when all volume sliders are maxed out and sound wizard is set to "Music".

I have a rooted device and installed Alsa Mixer from Play Store and tweaked the parameter "RX7 Digital Volume" from within the app. Changed default value of 85 to 100 and was pleased to get a noticeably louder speaker volume. Trouble is that the value resets almost instantly and volume level gets back to its default value. Probably because Alsa Mixer installs its own audio driver (alsa amixer) which uses a separate system for assigning values and there is a protection system in identify by Asus I think.

I also played with parameters in files below (residing in /system/etc/snd_soc_msm) - tweaked the RX7, RX1, RX2, etc...

snd_soc_apq_Taiko_DB
snd_soc_msm_Taiko_CDP
snd_soc_msm_Taiko_Fluid
snd_soc_msm_Taiko_Liquid

saved and reboot, just it didn't brand a deviation. And so anyone has any idea to share?

P. Southward. As far as I know the sound engine for NPFI is designed by Moving ridge and is called MaxxAudio, Is it possible that it has something to practise with that?

I had to reboot telephone and a PC after a driver install, just that'due south ok.

Is there a sub forum for PadFones? Would exist nice to accept a place for this stuff.

the push button beside dwelling button is non working

my padfone is asus padfone t004 .. earlier i recently updated, everything was fine. After i updated, (version four.two.2, non certain if information technology was actually updated or non) something went wrong.. The phone is all fine, but when i insert it into the pad, the button beside the domicile push on the right is non working (sorry i dont know what they call the push button as). anyone has this issue? or already fixed this consequence? please aid !

The new update ten.12.3.130 has a bug. Manifestly Asus is working to ready the bug. Don't panic. Hopefully a bug prepare volition be released shortly.

I must say I share your doubt. Mayhap they are working on KitKat for NPFI, and ignoring the fix for now. Disappointing client back up management!

KIT KAT Released for NPFI

Finally Asus released firmware update 11.2.v.12 for NPFI which updates its android version to 4.4.2

Yes, I downloaded it and had mine updated, mine you all, four.4.10 has a known issue, that is all tertiary party apps cannot write to external SD, unless you root it and apply the fix, so either leave it as rooted or unroot it again.

Just got one of these and it has recently updated from .20 to .26 and now I deceit root information technology? Any ideas?

Is in that location a manner of downgrading back to .20?

I achieved root with RootÖúÊÖ. I only uninstallede kingroot and used supersu instead

I'm with .26 WW and withal can't reach root.
@djleez82 can y'all explain briefly how this chinese tool works? I mean, how tin can I reach root with that. Thanks!

Rooting Firmware 12.4.0.59 - Android five.0.2 - A86

Disclaimer! The procedure described beneath has the potential of rendering your telephone useless if not followed properly. I Practise Non ACCEPT Whatsoever Responsibleness WHAT SO Ever, IF You lot BRICKED YOUR Telephone WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE. PROCEED AT OWN RISK!

This method is tested by downgrading firmware 12.four.0.59 to 11.2.5.26, which in turn needs a manufacturing plant reset/ wipe data/ cache/ later. Earlier annihilation else support your of import data (ie. contacts, messages, app information, etc) to some place rubber outside your phone. ORIGINAL RECOVERY of your phone will be replaced by TWRP recovery

Preparation: (BEFORE Anything REMOVE YOUR SIM CARD AND MICRO SD)
1. You must accept USB debugging enabled, let mock locations (developer options carte in settings)

2. Y'all must have UNKNOWN SOURCES enabled (security bill of fare in settings)

three. To be on the condom side I recommend y'all disable VERIFY APPS OVER USB, in developer options menu. Yous can re enable everything later on the job is done.

4. You need to download firmware 11.two.5.26, and 12.4.0.59 according to your telephone SKU and relieve it on your calculator.

5. Download WINRAR or whatever archiving software which is able to modify nix files and install it on your computer.

six. Download unofficial TWRP ver 2.vii.1.ane ONLY from this link, and save to your reckoner

seven. Download BETA SUPER SU 2.49 from here, and salve it to your computer.

viii. If you are on firmware, xi.2.5.26, or 11.2.v.thirty and rooted you are half way done, if non either you take to upgrade or downgrade depending on the firmware that now you are on. For example if you already upgraded to 12.4.0.59 you need to downgrade first and root, then keep. In that location's a thread in padfoneclub which comprehensively discusses way to root Kit Kat firmware and so I skip to just explaining downgrade process from 12.4.0.59.

9. To downgrade from 12.4.0.59 to eleven.2.five.26, you do it in the usual way from recovery except you demand to manufacturing plant reset/wipe data/ wipe enshroud via recovery beforehand. REMEMBER TO REMOVE YOUR MICRO SD FIRST AND Then WIPE OR YOU MAY LOSE YOUR DATA ON MICRO SD Every bit WELL! After wipe, reboot your phone and place the xi.2.5.26 zip in the root of your sd carte du jour past transferring downloaded goose egg from your PC.

10. Downgrade past choosing "apply update from sd carte menu item" in recovery and selecting the nil file y'all only transferred to your telephone. Call back to take at least lxx% accuse on your battery before downgrade or upgrade.

11. Later the downgrade process completes your phone reboots, if information technology is stuck in ASUS logo for a long time (more 10 min), switch off your phone by pressing and holding power button. And so reboot into recovery again practise another manufacturing plant reset / wipe data / wipe cache and reboot again. Now everything volition exist OK and your phone boots to initial KK setup. proceed until you are on the dwelling screen. reboot your phone once more.

12. make sure that items explained in stride i-three are checked and unchecked accordingly.

thirteen. Root your phone past your desired method.

NOW THE IMPORTANT STEPS TO UPGRADE TO A ROOTED ANDROID L 12.4.0.59

1. On your PC replace the "recovery.img" in the nada file for Firmware 12.4.0.59 with TWRP recovery that you just downloaded. Both accept the same proper name and it is a simple case of drag and driblet into nix file.

ii. Now you have three important file:
- The modified 12.4.0.59
- The TWRP recovery you downloaded (recovery.img)
- The beta Super SU 2.49

Copy all three file to the root of your sd menu in your phone.

three. Install "Terminal Emulator" from Play Shop, open the terminal and requite it root permissions if needed.

4. Type su

5. So type

                              dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/cake/platform/msm_sdcc.1/past-proper noun/recovery bs=4096; sync;                            

(you can re-create paste to rule out whatever typing mistake)

6. After executing the command a number of bytes transfers and the results will display in terminal window. close the window and reboot into recovery as usual, except this time y'all accept TWRP recovery instead of original Asus recovery.

seven. Go to "Install" button and select the modified 12.4.0.59 from your sdcard, uncheck "zip file signature verification" then "add more zips" and select beta super su ii.49. zip too, and then swipe to confirm flash.

8. If everything goes according to plan your telephone will be flashed with the new firmware and rooted at the same fourth dimension.

9. Reboot and relish!

ten. I tried this method on my phone and it all went smoothly, but in example you get errors, you have to figure information technology out yourself, I WONT BE ABLE TO HELP YOU! Over again Be CAUTIOUS, FOLLOW STEPS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED AND PROCEED AT Ain Take chances.
